Vernon Lee Jarrell – WWII Service at Normandy, France

Vernon Lee Jarrell, US Army WWII (1944). Vernon Lee Jarrell served in the 3rd Army, 83 Division, 330 Infantry Regiment, nicknamed the Thunderbolt Division. He was one of approximately 225 replacement personnel assigned to the 330 Infantry Regiment in July, 1944, after the invasian at Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. The following photographs of the June 6th Omaha Beach invasion were taken by Army photographers during the actual event.
