Martha Vaupel Mayer (1857-1961) seated at left. She was the daughter of Christian Vaupel and Anna Elisabetha Neuman. Her sister was Christina Vaupel Blumenstiel, the mother of John William Blumenstiel. Martha Vaupel migrated to Freeport, Illinois, USA from Reichensachsen, Hessen with her brother, John Vaupel, in 1880.
