Martha Vaupel Mayer (1857-1961) at left. She was the daughter of Christian Vaupel and Anna Elisabetha Neuman. Her sister was Christina Vaupel Blumenstiel, my great-great grandmother. Martha Vaupel migrated to Freeport, Illinois, USA from Reichensachsen, Hessen with her brother, John Vaupel, in 1880.
