Thomas Carney

Thomas Carney (1857-1932) was a grocer/butcher in Widnes, Lancashire, England. He was the father of my paternal grandmother, Agnes Carney Falkner. Her mother, Julia Grady Carney, left him and took their children to Canada around 1910. Unfortunately, my grandmother did not know her father in her life after the age of 5 years of age. We do not know the full story of Thomas and Julia’s separation, but he suffered business reversals in the early 1900s, which may have contributed to the split.
