My great-grandparents, John Jarrell and Mabel Forshee Jarrell appear in the 1920 U.S. Census for Detroit, Michigan. They had moved to Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Their family now included a fourth son, Rolly. They were part of the migration from the rural U.S. South to the industrial North that began during World War I. Detroit was a key destination for migrating workers, due to its abundance of factories for automotive and other manufacturing industries. They were the parents of my maternal grandfather, Vernon Lee Jarrell. #falknerjarrell #jarrellgenealogy #jarrell #familyhistory #familyphoto #genealogy #missouri #missourihistory #michiganhistory #oldphotos #detroithistory #detroit #familyphotos #familyphotography #ancestor #ancestors #ancestry #leadmine #leadbelt #autoworker #greatgrandparents #greatgrandfather #greatgrandpa #brothers #desloge #deslogemissouri
