John Vaupel Clothier in Freeport, Illinois, USA (postcard). John Vaupel was the brother of Christina Vaupel Blumenstiel. He immigrated to the USA and started a men’s clothing business. Once he was established, other family members joined him. In 1885, his mother, Anna Neuman Vaupel, made the voyage to the New World with his sister and her family. Christina Vaupel Blumenstiel was accompanied by her husband, Adolph Blumenstiel, and their four children. John William Blumenstiel was the youngest of the children.
