The Prince of Wales

The Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII and the Duke of Windsor) visited Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada in 1919. My grandmother, Agnes Carney Falkner, was in Port Arthur at the time and I wonder if she was caught up in the excitement of the royal visit (given that they were Irish, perhaps not?). Her mother, Julia Grady Carney immigrated to Port Arthur from Widnes, Lancashire, England by about 1915. She was accompanied by her children (including my grandmother) and sister, Mary Grady. Port Arthur, located on the northern shore of Lake Superior, is now part of Thunder Bay. #falknerjarrell #ancestors #familyhistory #genealogy #ancestry #history #oldphoto #ancestor #genealogyresearch #postcard #oldpostcard #savinghistory #findingroots #falknergenealogy #falkner #carneygenealogy #carney #grady #gradygenealogy #canada #portarthur #ontario #thunderbay #thunderbayontario #1900s #rppc #princeofwales #edwardviii #royalvisit #dukeofwindsor
